A slightly different take on the traditional brownie, taken from my grandmother’s recipes.
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease a 9″ x 12″ pan. Melt margarine over low heat. Add sugar. Stir until smooth and sugar is melted. Remove from heat. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt. Sift flour mixture into egg mixture. Stir to combine. Fold in chocolate chips. Pour into a pan and bake 25–30 minutes.

Very good brownies. Thought they were going to over flow the pan but they did fine. I added caramel to them so they were gooey (probably more than what they should have been:) but the hubby said they were the best I have made.
