The chewiest blondie recipe featuring white chocolate M&M candies, salty pretzels, and nutty brown butter.
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Line a 9×13 sheet pan with aluminum foil and spray the foil with nonstick cooking spray.
In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together. Set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk the browned butter with the brown sugar until well-blended. Add the eggs and vanilla and whisk to combine. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet using a spatula. Mix just until combined; do not overmix.
Fold in the pretzels and the white chocolate M&Ms and mix until distributed. Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and bake for 22-25 minutes. The top will be shiny and somewhat crackled. Remove and cool completely on a wire rack before cutting.
Notes:
To crush the pretzels, I put them in a sandwich bag and broke them with my hands until they reached the consistency I was after.
I used the whole bag of M&Ms, which is more than 1 cup, but I didn’t want them left sitting around the house. The bars will be full of them so feel free to use less.
You do not have to brown the butter for this recipe. If you would rather, just melt 12 tablespoons of butter and allow it to cool before using it.
