Description

A wonderful buttercream frosting that can be flavored to your taste. Holds piping well, and tastes delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Unsalted Butter
  • 2 pounds 10X Powdered Sugar, Sifted
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 1-½ teaspoon Good Vanilla
  • ¼ cups Buttermilk

Preparation

In a 5-quart mixer using the paddle attachment, cream the butter. Slowly add the sifted powdered sugar. When well blended, add the salt, vanilla, and buttermilk. You can adjust the consistency by adding more buttermilk for softer frosting. Keep the frosting stiffer if you’re going to pipe flowers or swirls on cupcakes.

This buttercream is great for flavoring as you like, adding melted chocolate, nuts, any flavor you like! I love using Mexican vanilla and tangerine oil. This takes to color really well, too – try striping two tones in your piping bag for a swirl look. Easy, yet impressive.

Delectable! The paddle attachment makes this frosting sooo fluffy, and it has that perfect, vanilla-y, buttercream taste! Thanks, nightngle!

The buttermilk makes this frosting so yummy. I love that it is such a simple change from a basic buttercream… it just gives it a little something extra. MMMMMMMM….. :)

This frosting is so easy & absolutely delicious! With a paddle attachment it becomes wonderfully fluffy. Also great for decorating. The buttermilk gives it a great flavor. I will be telling others about this recipe & definitely making it again.
