Forget the Nilla Wafers and meringue! Banana pudding was meant to be made with PEANUTS!
Using a meat grinder, grind peanuts into a large bowl. Set aside.
Slice bananas. Set aside.
Make the pudding according to package directions.
Layer 1/4 of the ground peanuts, 1/4 of the sliced bananas, and 1/4 of the pudding into a pretty glass bowl. Repeat layers.
Top with any remaining ground peanuts.
Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.

Thank you for posting this recipe. It’s quite vintage and very tasty. I’m almost 70 and my mother would make this on occasion when I was very young. It used to be on either the Jello Pudding box or the vanilla wafer box. Can’t remember which.
