A family favorite and my most favorite comfort food! Simple and delicious! And I classify this as ‘cake’ because it has a caky texture, not bread-y at all!
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Beat bananas with shortening & butter until incorporated. Add sugar, eggs, buttermilk, vanilla, soda and salt, then beat until incorporated.
Sift flour, then slowly add to the batter. Stir in chopped pecans.
Bake for 50-60 minutes if you’re baking 2 loaves (which is what I do), or bake for 40-50 minutes in a greased and lined bundt pan.

Absolutely LOVE this recipe!! I’ve never had such moist banana nut bread… it’s heavenly.
