Description

This is a lovely banana bread with a bit of a sinful twist by adding chocolate to it then drizzling more chocolate over top.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE CAKE:
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • ¼ teaspoons Vanilla Salt, (regular Salt Is Fine To Use As Well)
  • 2  Eggs
  • 1 cup Mashed Banana (about 3 Bananas)
  • ⅓ cups Walnut Oil
  • ¼ cups Milk
  • 1 cup Crushed Walnuts
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • FOR THE DRIZZLE:
  • 2 ounces, weight Semi-sweet Chocolate
  • 2 ounces, fluid Cream, I Used Whipping

Preparation

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.

In a large bowl mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Set aside.

In another large bowl beat the eggs, banana, oil, and milk.

Now add your dry ingredients to your wet ingredients and fold in until incorporated. Do not over mix.

Now add walnuts and chocolate chips. Fold in lightly.

Pour mixture into a greased loaf pan or bundt pan.

Bake for about 50- 55 minutes. Toothpick will come out clean when done.

Remove from oven and let cool in pan for about 10 minutes. Then remove it from the pan and let cool completely.

While it is cooling you can make your drizzle.

Start by putting some water in the bottom of a double boiler. Now stack the double boiler pans and turn on medium to low heat.

Once water is heated up nicely add you chocolate into the top bowl of the double boiler and melt.

Let the chocolate cool for a few minutes then add milk or cream, whisking until smooth.

Pour over banana chocolate loaf.

Let chocolate cool.

Serve with a chocolately smile.
