I remember having this cake every time we went to my grandma’s house. It is so moist and delicious. It is a bit too moist to work well in a layer cake, but perfect for cupcakes!
Mix cocoa, soda and water and set aside to cool. Cream sugar, shortening and eggs and then add milk and vanilla. Slowly add the flour, alternating with the chocolate mixture. Bake at 350ºF for 30 minutes in a 9 x 13 pan. If making cupcakes, recipe yields 28 cupcakes.
