This is my favorite fall dessert. (Or anytime!) I have never been the biggest fan of cooked apples until this. My sister-in-law, who “hates all cooked apples,” LOVES this recipe. Yummy!
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix the 2 c. flour, 4 Tbsp. sugar, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1 c. melted butter, together. Pat in the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan.
Mix sliced apples, 1 c. sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon, together, and spread over crust layer.
Mix the last 1 c. flour, 1 c. sugar, 1/2 tsp. salt and the softened butter together until crumbly. Sprinkle on top of apple layer.
Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream. (We love cinnamon ice cream with this.) Enjoy!

Very good. I have never had Kuchen before, but it was easy and so yummy. I would totally make this again.

Delicious! I made this twice in the last month! Been trying to use up the apples from our tree and since I already had all the other ingredients on hand, this was a cinch to whip up and enjoy. Thanks!
