A sweet crumb topping makes this apple crisp irresistible with whipped cream or ice cream on top.
Heat oven to 350 degrees (F).
Place apples in large baking dish. Slice butter into small cubes and spread over apple pieces. Add water and 1 Tablespoon cinnamon with apples. Set aside.
In mixing bowl mix together remaining cinnamon, flour, sugar, baking powder, eggs and salt, it should resemble a cornmeal mixture. Cover apples with flour mixture (crust) and pat down. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until top is brown and liquid is bubbling at edges of crust.
