A bundt cake full of mini chocolate chips and flavored with just a hint of almond. An old family recipe, named for the first four ingredients on the list!
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
In large mixing bowl, combine shortening, sugar, vanilla, almond, and milk. Add flour, baking powder, and salt. Fold in egg whites and mini chocolate chips.
Pour into greased bundt pan. Bake for an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes. Allow to cool.
Turn over onto large plate and frost with a thin icing of milk, powdered sugar, and almond extract.
This cake is great fresh, but it improves with age – make it a couple days before you intend to serve it and cover it with plastic wrap.
