Description

Grab a vanilla bean and make this amazing Vanilla Syrup. Besides being delicious, it makes a wonderful holiday gift! The only downside is you will NOT be able to stop licking your spoon!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Vanilla Bean
  • ¼ cups Water
  • ½ cups Sugar

Preparation

Cut your vanilla bean in half. I like to then slice it open and scrape out all the seeds. If you prefer a more pure-looking syrup, just halve the vanilla bean then slice down the middle, without scraping out the seeds.

Combine water, sugar and vanilla beans in a saucepan, stir well. Bring to a boil and boil for 4-5 minutes. Strain your syrup through a fine strainer. Cool, cover and let sit in the fridge for 3 hours to allow the flavors to mingle.

Rewarm later for use over ice cream, pancakes, etc. or stir into club soda for a wonderful homemade cream soda!

This will keep 3 weeks in your fridge. It makes a nice holiday gift given in small jars, tucked into a basket of goodies!

Enjoy!

This was great, very simple, very easy and very good. I use it in coffee, which it is perfect for.
