A cherished secret family recipe for chunky bolognese tomato sauce!
1. In a Dutch oven or large pot, heat oil on medium heat and add pork sausage.
2. Cook sausage until golden brown, then add onion and garlic. Saute onion until translucent.
3. Add crushed tomatoes, water and seasonings and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour.
4. If the sauce is too thick, add more water. If it’s too thin for your liking, add some tomato paste.
5. Keep refrigerated or freeze in an airtight container.
