Description

These are super easy, and great accompaniment at all your summer barbeques. It is hard to wait the five days for them to brew! Put them in your own jars and it will look like you are a canning pro! They keep refrigerated for as long as the store-bought pickles.

Ingredients

  • ½ gallons Jar Of Dill Pickles (I Buy The Vlasic Kosher Dill Spears)
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Thinly Sliced
  • 2 cups Granulated Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Tabasco Sauce (or To Taste)
  • ½ cups Jalapeno Slices, Optional

Preparation

In a large colander, drain the pickles, discarding the brine. Cut pickles into chunks.

Layer a fourth of the pickles, sugar, garlic, and Tabasco in the jar. Add jalapenos to each layer if you are using them.

Repeat until all ingredients are used.

Put the lid tightly on the jar and give them a shake. Let pickles sit on the counter for 5 days. Shake or invert the jar daily to insure an even coating.

Refrigerate and enjoy!

These are delicious! My husband doesn’t even really like pickles and ate almost the whole jar in one sitting! I might have to have an ongoing marinating pickle jar or 2 on the counter from now on.
