Easiest (and tastiest!) marinara sauce you will ever make!
Heat up olive oil in a skillet and add in chopped onion. Saute and let brown for 5-10 minutes, then add in garlic. Mix and let cook for 1-2 minutes more.
Then, add red wine. Allow the wine to bubble and reduce by half (give a few stirs here and there), then dump in tomatoes. If you’re using plum tomatoes like me for a chunkier sauce, just mash them up with a potato masher.
Now add in fresh parsley and red pepper flakes, depending on how much of a kick you like. I personally like spice, especially in a sauce, so I usually add at least 1 tablespoon. Feel free to add more or less.
Stir, cover, and let simmer on medium-low heat for about 15 minutes. Then you’re done! Use this on your pasta tonight!
