A great, simple alternative to bottled syrup.
Add sugar and water into a saucepan. Over low heat, stir until sugar is dissolved. Add in molasses and maple flavoring. Stir to combine.
Increase heat to get mixture to a medium boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 15 minutes. Turn off heat and let it cool a bit before serving.
Store in an airtight container (I use a mason jar) in your fridge and use within 2 weeks.
