Flavorful, easy tomato sauce with a quick simmer of only 25 minutes! Perfect for lasagna, manicotti, and baked ziti.
1. Add olive oil to a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion, and sauté until tender, stirring occasionally, about 3-4 minutes. Once onions are tender, add water, tomato sauce, tomato paste, garlic powder, salt, pepper, sugar, and oregano. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer, and simmer for 25 minutes.
2. Take sauce off burner, and transfer all of the sauce to a blender. Add the basil leaves, and blend until smooth. This can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, or frozen in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Enjoy!
