This is so much better than bottled sauces, and can be made in minutes with items that are usually on hand. Add a little more heat or a little more sweet to adjust for your palate.
Combine all ingredients in a heavy saucepan. Bring to boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 30 minutes.
Use on chicken or ribs. Makes a great BBQ chicken pizza. Remove cloves if adding to pulled pork.
I use this recipe frequently to take as a host(ess) gift for a cook-out. It keeps well, refrigerated in a glass jar.
