A “quick and dirty” tomato sauce recipe that can be made in a pinch any night of the week. If all you’ve got to rub together is a can of diced tomatoes and a few dried spices, this recipe is for you!
Heat the oil and garlic on the stovetop on medium heat for about 2 minutes, until the garlic becomes fragrant.
Next, add the tomatoes and sauce to the pot. Then stir in the spices. Next, add the water, red pepper flakes, and sugar. Cover with a good fitting lid and bring to a quick boil. Then, reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 20 minutes. The sauce should thicken up a bit.
Once the sauce has thickened up a bit, serve over your favorite pasta and enjoy. If it’s too thick for your liking, thin it out with a splash of water.
