Mmmmm. Gravy.
In a frying pan (preferably one that you just cooked some meat in), melt your butter. If you already have enough grease in your pan, you can skip this step. Have your cup of broth and your cup of milk ready on the counter. Get a whisk. Add the flour to the melted butter. Whisk constantly until incorporated. Continue to whisk while the flour cooks down. Otherwise your gravy will taste like flour. Cook until it’s a golden brown color. Reduce your heat and add the broth while whisking. Add the milk while continuing to whisk. Turn the heat back up and simmer until desired thickness, while whisking. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve over mashed potatoes or meat.

This gravy is delicious! I had leftover stroganoff and ran low on sauce, so I used this recipe to make additional sauce. It was divine! (I used bacon drippings.) This will definitely be my “go-to” for a quick and delicious homemade gravy!
