Description

This is so good poured over a block of cream cheese and served with crackers. Also good on a turkey sandwich!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Fresh Cranberries
  • 2-½ cups Sugar
  • 1-¼ cup Water
  • 6 whole Cloves
  • 1 whole Cinnamon Stick, Broken
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 whole Granny Smith Apples, Peeled, Cored And Diced
  • 2 whole Pears, Peeled, Cored And Diced
  • 1 whole Small Onion, Diced
  • ½ cups Diced Crystallized Ginger

Preparation

Combine cranberries, sugar, water, cloves, cinnamon stick pieces and salt. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 10-12 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer 10 more minutes. Remove from heat and cool. Remove cinnamon and cloves and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Question….have you ever canned this? Cranberries sell out quickly in my neck of the woods and I would like to make this next Thanksgiving and have some leftover to serve on Christmas….maybe give a jar or two away as a gift.
