A condiment you can put on a plate under a steak, or put it on top of a thick juicy cheeseburger.
Peel the onion, slice in half from root to stem and then slice into 1/2 rings.
Melt the butter in a saute pan over medium heat and add the onions.
Add the salt and continue cooking the onions, stirring often until they start to brown up and become very tender. How dark the onions cook is a matter of preference.
When the onions are about done enough, add 2-3 dashes of soy sauce and stir it around to let the onions absorb the soy sauce.
To finish it off, I splash some Chardonnay into the pan to de-glaze the pan and add some nice flavor to it.
Serve immediately on burgers or with your favorite steak.
