Our momma was a wonderful cook, creative in her day. Oddly enough, this recipe came from a very nice lady while they were both standing in line at the grocery store. This is great when using those gorgeous fall apples that are appearing at your farmers’ market.
Cook all of the ingredients in a saucepan over medium to low heat. Cook until thickened.
Note: I always double this recipe. This is best used on apple pie or a rustic apple tart. I have also used it for a dip with sliced apple for an appetizer. Remember to keep it warm. My husband has been known to put it on vanilla ice cream.
Enjoy!
