Ingredients

  • FOR THE BREAD:
  • 3 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1-½ teaspoon Salt
  • 1-½ teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 3 whole Eggs
  • 1-½ cup Milk
  • 1-⅛ cup Corn Oil
  • 2-½ cups White Sugar
  • 1-½ Tablespoon Poppy Seeds
  • 1-½ teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon Almond Extract
  • 1 teaspoon Butter Flavor Extract
  • _____
  • FOR THE GLAZE:
  • ¼ cups Orange Juice
  • ¾ cups Sugar
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla
  • ½ teaspoons Almond Extract
  • ½ teaspoons Butter Flavor Extract

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease and flour 2 large loaf pans or 6 mini loaf pans.

Sift together flour, salt and baking powder. Set aside.

Whisk together by hand the eggs, milk, corn oil and sugar. Combine well. Add poppy seeds, vanilla, almond, and butter extracts.

Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture and mix by hand until well-combined.

Pour into prepared pans.

Bake 40 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of each loaf comes out clean. Remove to wire racks and cool completely.

For the glaze:

Combine orange juice and sugar in a small saucepan and heat mixture until sugar dissolves. Add the extracts. Mix well and pour over the cooled loaves.
