Serve this cornbread with almost any main dish course.
Preheat oven to 400 F.
In a large mixing bowl add cornmeal, self-rising flour and beaten egg and stir together with a wooden spoon. Add pure honey and stir again. Add pecan pieces and fold them into the batter.
Into a 12″ cast iron skillet add melted butter, making sure that you completely spread the butter out on bottom surface. Then add cornbread batter. Place it in the oven and bake at 400 F for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
This combination of flavors is so wonderful served warm!
