Here’s a recipe that is one of our family favorites. Easy and sooo good. Great for family gatherings.
In a large mixing bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, butter and salt. Add boiling water and stir. Cool to 100ºF to 115ºF. Add yeast to oat mixture along with 2 cups of flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
Turn onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 5–7 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
Punch dough down. Turn onto lightly floured surface. Divide into 20 pieces. Place in greased 13×9 baking pan. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
Bake at 350ºF for 30–35 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with melted butter.
