Hands down the world’s best tea biscuits. Light, flaky, and delicious.
1. Preheat oven to 450°F
2. Sift together dry ingredients.
3. Cut in ¾ cup butter
4. Add egg and milk and stir until dough just comes together.
5. Turn out onto a floured surface.
6. Note: if you handle them too much, they become tough – so handle the dough as little as possible and barely roll it out. Then cut with a floured cookie cutter or drinking glass.
7. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for 12 minutes.

I used soy milk in place of regular milk and it worked just fine.
