Description

A little sweet and very fragrant, this beer bread makes a great snack slathered in honey butter!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE BREAD:
  • 3 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1-½ teaspoon Salt
  • 3 Tablespoons Honey
  • 1 bottle (about 12 Oz. Size) Beer
  • 4 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter, Melted And Slightly Cooled
  • FOR THE HONEY BUTTER:
  • 1 stick Unsalted Butter, At Room Temperature
  • ¼ cups Honey
  • 1 dash Salt

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350ºF and butter and flour a loaf pan.

Make the bread by whisking together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Add the honey and beer and whisk just until everything is combined. Pour the batter into the pan and pour the melted butter over the top. Bake 50-60 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a cake tester comes out clean. Let cool slightly before removing from the pan.

To make the honey butter, combine the butter, honey and salt in a small bowl and mix until everything is thoroughly incorporated. Spread on the sliced bread for a wonderful afternoon snack.

I made this last fall with homemade soup, everyone loved it. My sister makes it for her family all the time. It is very simple recipe.
