Have I mentioned that we love bread? Bread of all types. White bread, potato bread, pumpkin bread, biscuits, bagels, banana bread; you name it, if it’s bread, our family loves it. When it comes to biscuits, you just can’t beat homemade! Those rolls in the dairy case just can’t compare. Biscuits are easy to mix up and even easier to roll out and cut. Fresh from the oven, biscuits make a great addition to any meal.
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Mix all dry ingredients. Add shortening and mix till a crumbly texture is achieved. Mix in buttermilk. Add garlic and mix until well incorporated. Stir in cheese.
Roll dough onto a well-floured surface to a thickness of 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Cut with a 2-inch biscuit cutter.
Place on a baking stone or cookie sheet with sides touching.
Bake for 12 – 15 minutes until golden brown.
