Description

The yummiest, softest, heavenlyest banana bread you will ever be addicted to!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE BANANA BREAD:
  • ¾ cups Butter
  • 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese (can Use Low Fat To Lessen Guilt)
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 3 cups Flour
  • ½ teaspoons Baking Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla
  • 1-½ cup Mashed Bananas
  • _____
  • FOR THE TOPPING:
  • 1 Tablespoon Flour
  • ½ teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • ½ cups Brown Sugar

Preparation

Mix together the bread ingredients. You know the drill: cream butter, cheese and sugar. Add dry ingredients after. Divide into two greased bread pans.

For the topping, mix the flour, cinnamon, butter, and brown sugar in a separate bowl till crumbly. Add on top of batter. Bake at 350F for 50-60 minutes.

Oh,my gosh! Made this banana bread last night and brought it to work this morning. Have been looking for a banana bread recipe that I LOVE for years, and this is it. Had to check the other comments before I made it to make sure it really didn’t have any eggs, but after being assured that there was nothing left out, went ahead and made it. So glad I did! Delicious!!

This is seriously in the top five of Best Things I Have Ever Baked. I did replace 1/2 cup of butter with applesauce, and then used Butter Crisco to balance out the added liquid (I always feel a little weird telling someone I changed his/her recipe lol). Awesome bread – I always have make double batches because it goes so fast!
