Description

We love, love, love both banana bread and Oreos at our house, so what could be better than combining the two? The Oreos give an extra boost of moisture to the bread and the vanilla glaze pulls the whole thing together. This is my daughter’s favorite quick bread recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1-½ cube Butter
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 1-½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 4 whole Bananas, Smashed
  • 1 cup Flour
  • ½ Tablespoons Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 15 whole Oreo Cookies, Broken Into Pieces
  • FOR THE GLAZE:
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2-½ Tablespoons Milk Or Cream

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Add vanilla and bananas and combine.
2. Add dry ingredients and mix just until combined.
3. Gently fold in Oreos.
4. Pour batter into 2 loaf pans sprayed with Pam.
5. Bake for 28 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
6. Turn out onto wire rack, cool.
7. Whisk powdered sugar and milk together until it reaches drizzling (yes that is a word, I’m sure of it) consistency.
8. Drizzle glaze over loaves.
