Classic Scones with cold butter and jam.
Preheat oven to 400ºF.
Mix flour, baking powder and salt with cold butter and milk. In the beginning, dough will look like it won’t stick together, but keep mixing a few minutes and it will end up nice and smooth.
Roll dough out 1/2 inch thick. Use a plain round cutter to cut out scones. Brush with beaten egg. Bake for 15 minutes.
Serve with cold butter and freshly made jam.
