Easy, tender, flaky, simple, basic, buttermilk scone.
Mix dry ingredients together. With a pastry blender or fork, cut in chilled butter until crumby. Stir in buttermilk until dough forms a ball. Divide into two balls.
Place on an un-greased cookie sheet. Slightly flatten with the heel of your hand. Cut into quarters with a knife.
Bake at 425F for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown. Serve with butter, jam, fruit or whatever desired.
