Description

Use my 3-ingredient biscuit recipe or frozen ready to bake biscuits to create these yummy breakfast treats!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Self-Rising Flour
  • 1 cup Plus 1-2 Tablespoons Whipping Cream
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter, Melted, For Brushing On The Biscuits
  • ⅓ cups Brown Sugar, Packed
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter, Melted
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Confectioners Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter, Melted
  • 1 Tablespoon Milk Or Cream, Plus More If Needed
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla Extract

Preparation

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

If making with my “Biscuits Easy as 1, 2, 3:” Scoop the flour into a medium mixing bowl. Fold in the whipping cream and stir gently until all flour is moistened. The dough will be sticky.

Sprinkle a clean flat surface or cutting board liberally with flour (using the self-rising flour that you already have out is just fine). Scoop the dough out onto the floured surface and dust the top with flour. Flour your hands and gently press the dough into a ¾-1-inch thickness. Use a floured biscuit cutter to cut the dough into biscuits and carefully move them to the parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with melted butter and let the dough rest at room temperature for about 10 minutes. (Note: If using store-bought frozen ready to bake biscuits, just place them on the parchment-lined baking sheet, brush with butter and let the dough rest at room temperature for about 10 minutes, to soften slightly and then proceed with the recipe.)

Combine brown sugar, melted butter and ground cinnamon in a small bowl and spoon a little of the mixture onto the center of each biscuit.

Place your biscuits in the oven and bake for 15 minutes. (If you’re using the frozen biscuits, bake according to package directions.)

While the biscuits bake, combine the confectioners’ sugar, butter, milk and vanilla in a small bowl. Stir until smooth and then spoon into a zip-top plastic sandwich bag.

When biscuits are done, cut a small piece of the corner off of the plastic bag and drizzle the glaze over the biscuits.
