Description

This banana bread recipe was given to me by my BFF, who insisted it was the best she had ever tasted. Well, you know how we all have a favorite banana bread? I was a bit skeptical that it was the best EVER, but gave it a go. Then I made it 6 times more. Without further adieu, I give you “The Best Banana Bread” hereby dubbed “Bestie Banana Bread” from this day forward.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 stick Butter, Softened
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 4 Tablespoons Sour Cream
  • 1-½ cup Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 3 whole Over-ripe Bananas

Preparation

Mix all ingredients in your Kitchen Aid mixer, adding them in the order listed and mixing as you go. Pour the batter into a standard sized loaf pan and bake at 350F for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the loaf comes out clean.

Enjoy! It’s SOOOO moist and yummy!

Will definitely try this! I like the sour cream addition…different than the recipe I use now. Sounds better!

Yay! Glad you enjoyed it, Annie.
Army mom, thanks for the tip, chocolate chips would be amazing for a special treat and make for a fun after school snack with a cold glass of milk!!!!!

I have tried so many recipes for banana bread; some winners, some not. This one seemed too easy. I just had to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. When I first cut it, I was afraid it was not going to be as moist as I like. However, it was very moist. I loved that it was so easy and quick to throw together. It exceeded my expectations for sure!

This banana bread was so delicious and a cinch to pull together! Every other banana bread recipe I’ve tried has either baked completely unevenly or has been very dry. This one has great texture and flavor!

i made this bread last night, and just ate the first slice for breakfast…delicious! the bread was incredibly easy to make, and it tastes just like mom’s (maybe even a little better!). very moist and flavorful and i didn’t add anything extra. it did take about an hour and ten minutes to bake all the way through, but my loaf pan usually takes longer to bake through than recipes call for. definitely worth a try!

This bread is so yummy and moist! It was also so easy which is a great plus in my book! I added an extra banana, a little vanilla extract, and some cinnamon. So good (even if I did burn the bottoms a little).
