Tender scones with melt-in-your-mouth bits of date.
Preheat oven to 450.
Mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a large bowl and set aside.
Mix bananas, egg, and cream in another bowl.
In a small bowl, mix chopped dates with 2 Tbsp. of flour mixture to coat and separate dates.
Pour banana mixture over flour mixture and mix gently until just combined. Add dates and and mix 10 times. Mixture will be slightly sticky and lumpy.
Place 1/4 cups mounds mixture onto greased or lined baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
Bake 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Toothpick inserted into center should come out clean.
Serve warm with butter, cream cheese, or clotted cream.
