Crumbly, soft jam bars that go great with morning coffee! A very simple recipe…
Pre-heat oven to 400. Cream butter and sugar; add egg and extract of choice. Mix well. Add sifted dry ingredients and milk. (I use evaporated milk) Spread 1/2 the batter in an 8×8-inch pan. Spread jam over batter. Cover with the rest of the batter in small dollops and spread to cover jam. Bake for 25 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
