A healthy whole wheat treat to be enjoyed with coffee for breakfast or with tea for a classic afternoon snack.
1. Preheat oven to 400 F.
2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Then add in your diced butter and combine using a fork or pastry cutter until dough clumps into pieces no larger than pea size. Once butter is incorporated, mix in your egg and milk until combined, but do not over mix. Then gently fold in your diced apple.
3. On a floured surface, form your dough into a 9 inch disk. I suggest forming a ball first and then patting the dough flat. Cut the dough into six even sized pieces, like a pizza or pie, using a knife or pizza cutter.
4. Separate your pieces and place them on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
5. Enjoy warm with a hot cup of coffee or tea!
