Description

This easy Apple Pecan Sweet Bread is full of apples chunks and pecans. It is lightly sprinkled with cinnamon pecan sugar giving it a light extra crunch on the crust. It is quick to come together and can easily be doubled.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE APPLE BREAD:
  • 1-¾ cup All-purpose Flour
  • 2-½ teaspoons Cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoons Nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 2  Large Eggs
  • ¾ cups Sugar
  • ⅓ cups Vegetable Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Applesauce
  • 2 cups Finely Chopped Peeled Apples
  • ½ cups Chopped, Toasted Pecans
  • FOR THE TOPPING:
  • ½ cups Chopped, Toasted Pecans
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Cinnamon

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease a loaf pan.

In a large bowl, mix flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and baking powder. In a medium bowl, mix eggs, sugar, vegetable oil and applesauce.

Add wet ingredients to dry and mix just until incorporated. Fold in apples and pecans.

Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle over loaf.

Bake in preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center of the bread comes out clean, 55 to 60 minutes. Invert to remove loaf as soon as possible.
