Description

While smoked fish dip is a S. Florida tradtion, anyone can make this addictive appetizer! All you need is smoked fish and a few additional ingredients to please a crowd.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese Or Neufchatel Cheese
  • 8 ounces, weight Smoked Fish, Take The Skin Off
  • 1 whole Jalapeno
  • 2 Tablespoons Mayonnaise, More Or Less To Taste
  • 1 whole Lime, Zest And Juice
  • 1 Tablespoon Old Bay Seasoning
  • Salt And Pepper, to taste

Preparation

Puree ingredients, including the lime juice and zest, in a food processor until well blended. I like to make mine almost whipped so as to easily spread on crackers.

This dip is so good, you may eat the whole batch in one sitting! Enjoy!

This was the hit of the Superbowl Party! I used smoked Lake Superior whitefish (being from Michigan and all…). The lime and jalapeno is what really pulls this spread together, it cuts through the richness of the cheese and fish without over-powering it. I have already been requested to bring this spread to our next gathering.
