Description

These mini calzones are perfect for the kids or for a quick snack. Very easy and quick to make. You can fill them with your favorite veggies, cheese, or protein.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (11 Oz. Package) Pizza Dough (I Used Pillsbury Thin Crust)
  • 4 ounces, weight Mozzarella Cheese (block)
  • ¼ cups Diced Turkey Pepperoni
  • ¼ cups Diced Green Peppers
  • ¼ cups Diced Mushrooms
  • ¼ cups Diced Broccoli Florets (not The Stem)
  • ¾ cups Marinara Or Pizza Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Italian Spices (optional)

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

2. Cut the mozzarella block into 1-inch cubes.

3. Roll the pizza dough out and cut into 3×5 rectangles.

4. Place one cube of cheese onto the bottom half of each rectangle. Add a pinch of each vegetable/protein over the cheese, a pinch of the Italian herb blend (if using ) and top with a spoonful of sauce.

5. Seal the calzone by folding the other half over the bottom half and either folding the bottom edges over the top edges, crimping them, or using a fork to seal.

6. Bake at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes or so. You’ll know they’re done once they begin to turn golden brown. Let cool and serve warm.
