Recipe was quick and easy, creamy and not as grainy as the last praline recipe I tried. Brought them to work and they disappeared quickly! Making them for a Mother’s Day Tea favor. If any one has suggestions on avoiding graininess please let me know. This recipe is a keeper! Thank you.

These really are easy an so good! I had previously tried making pralines using a recipe that called for a candy thermometer and ended up scorching them. No worries with this recipe, simply bring your brown sugar/butter/whipping cream mix to a boil for about a minute then remove and add your powdered sugar, vanilla and toasted pecans. My kids said they tasted just like the ones we get at River Street Treats when we’re in Myrtle Beach, S.C. This will be my go-to pralines recipe. Thanks!

These pralines were perfect and amazing and so very easy! I made two batches within 15 minutes and after sitting for 30 minutes, they were ready to go! Highly recommended!

Humidity affects a lot of candy making.
Also, unsalted BUTTER is always the preference. The salted butter only changes the saltiness of the recipe.
Really and truly, there’s no reason to buy salted butter.

Mine never thickened up. They were runny…. any idea what I did wrong?

I can’t wait to try this one. I tried a praline recipe today that I got out of a cookbook and they did not turn out. These sound a little bit easier and the ingredients are different so I’m hoping this will be the one!

This recipe looks right up my alley—–easy and yummy! Was wondering if the “butter” is the real unsalted butter, and not stick margarine? ( ie.,Parkay, etc.)
Would this be a freezable candy?
