Fun for kids, great for gifts
First put a stick in each marshmallow – make as many or as few as you like place them on a tray and put them in the freezer.
Next put a piece of wax paper in front of each child and a bowl. Then let them choose their topping – crushed up candy bars, sprinkles, edible glitter.
Now to choose and melt the chocolate. I prefer white chocolate – it’s much more fun for the kids to decorate.
Melt the chocolate. I use the the microwave 30 seconds at a time to melt then stir; then back in for another 30 seconds to melt then stir – just continue until it’s smooth.
Put the chocolate in the middle of the table, pull out the marshmallows from the freezer, give each child a few and let them do their the magic. Just dip marshmallow in the chocolate and add the sprinkles over the bowl (that way you are catching all the extra to reuse on the next if they like). Place the marshmallow sticks on the wax paper to dry. (It doesn’t take long)
I prefer to put the toppings in little bowls so it causes less waste, allowing the children to pinch a little each time. Less waste!
I usually put them in candy plastic wrappers, then tie them with a twist tie. Great as gifts.
You can also use a little terra cotta pot add the pops and make an arrangement – add a gift tag and it’s a great gift.
Also you can color the white chocolate any color. Just remember you cannot use regular food coloring – you have to use a special food coloring for chocolate. And if you ever want to make black, use milk or dark chocolate.
