Description

This cake is easy to put together and tastes wonderful. It reminds me of the treats in my grandmother’s kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 1-¾ cup Boiling Water
  • 1 cup Instant Oatmeal
  • 1-¾ cup Flour
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • ½ cups Butter Or Margarine, Softened
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 1 Tablespoon Cocoa Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 12 ounces, weight Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Mix the boiling water and instant oatmeal together. Let stand 10 minutes.

Mix together remaining ingredients, except chocolate chips.

When thoroughly mixed, add the oatmeal mixture and 6 ounces of the chocolate chips. Stir together until well blended.

Pour batter in to a greased 9×13 pan. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 35-40 minutes.
