Description

Here’s an easy recipe with simple ingredients. You haven’t lived a full life until you try chocolate gravy over home made biscuits! YUM

Ingredients

  • ¾ cups Sugar
  • ¼ cups Cocoa
  • 2 Tablespoons Cornstarch
  • ⅛ teaspoons Salt
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1-½ cup Half-and-half

Preparation

In a medium bowl, combine sugar, cocoa, cornstarch, and salt. Stir dry ingredients together and blend well.

In a large skillet, add the butter and half-and-half. Then stir in the dry ingredients. Turn heat to medium and stir with a wire whisk until mixture begins to thicken and bubble slightly.

Serve hot gravy over hot biscuits, angel food cake, or even pound cake.

I can’t wait to try this. My momma use to make it when we were little.

Hey Milkwithknives! Yes I bet you could make that substitution, or even use coconut milk. The original recipe called for WATER so you might give that a try too. I bet you could substitute coconut butter for the regular butter as well. Good luck with that and let me know how it turns out.

Oh man, by chance have you tried this with almond or soy milk? It looks absolutely incredible, but I never use half and half because of a danged dairy allergy. What do you think?
