Grandma Myrtle’s Raw Apple Cake

Description
A sweet, moist cake full of apples and spice. Sweet enough for dessert, but also great with your morning coffee!
Ingredients
- 4 cups Apples, Cut Into Slices
- 1-¼ stick Butter, Softened
- 2 whole Eggs
- 1 cup White Sugar
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 2 cups All-purpose Flour
- ½ teaspoons Salt
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 teaspoon Nutmeg
- 2 teaspoons Cinnamon
- 1 cup Nuts (optional)
- Powdered Sugar (optional, For Garnish)
Preparation
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Grease a 13×9 baking pan.
Beat together butter, eggs, and sugars. In separate bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking soda, and spices. Slowly add flour mixture into butter/sugar mixture until combined. Fold in apples and nuts (if using). Pour into pan.
Bake at 300 degrees for 15 minutes, then bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Let cool completely. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
