Shortcakes to be used for strawberry shortcake. This is my grandmother’s recipe
Preheat oven 400F.
Sift together dry ingredients.
With a fork or pastry blender, work in the shortening; add milk and mix until blended.
Toss on a lightly floured board and pat or roll to 1/2 thickness. Cut with a biscuit cutter.
Bake in a 400 oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
Top with strawberries and whipped cream.
