Can you open cans and boxes? Then you can assemble this culinary creation.
Lightly grease a 13 x 9 inch pan. Layer drained pineapple. For the second layer, add the pie filling. For the third layer, sprinkle the dry cake mix over the filling. Finally, for the fourth layer, sprinkle with pecans. Combine the melted butter and pineapple juice and pour over the top. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
Serve with whipped cream.

My daughters (aged 3 and 5) made this for dessert for Valentine’s day. It was easy to make, even though I separated it into to round pans so I could serve it stacked in a trifle dish. If you’ve never served a dump cake, they won’t stand up like a traditional cake, and they are usually served in the baking dish–we were being fancy though.
The kiddos and their Daddy all liked it, it was quite rich so we’ll definitely get more than 8 servings from it.
