For the chocolate lover—for breakfast, dessert or a snack.
Preheat oven to 425ºF. Grease a cookie sheet or line with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, sugar and cocoa powder.
With a pastry cutter, cut butter into flour mixture until pieces are about pea size. Add in egg, vanilla and cream. Mix until incorporated, being sure not to over-mix. Carefully fold in chocolate chips.
Shape dough into a circular shape. Cut dough into wedges. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
Make glaze by melting chocolate chips and whipping cream over low heat until smooth. Drizzle over scones before serving.
