Description

A twist to your traditional pumpkin pie. A sweet and comforting seasonal dessert!

Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 Oz.) Pureed Pumpkin
  • 1 can 12 Oz. Evaporated Milk
  • 3 whole Eggs
  • 1-½ cup Sugar, Divided
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoons Ginger
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Cloves
  • ⅛ teaspoons Nutmeg
  • 1 box (about 18 Oz.) Yellow Cake Mix
  • ½ cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 stick Butter, Melted

Preparation

In a large bowl combine eggs, pumpkin, evaporated milk, 1 cup of sugar, and spices. Whisk together and pour into a greased 8×12 baking dish.

In a separate bowl, combine cake mix, brown sugar and remaining 1/2 cup white sugar. Add melted butter and mix together until it becomes crumbly. Sprinkle generously all over the top of the pumpkin mixture.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, making sure the top is nice and brown and crisp.

Eat with ice cream or just a dab of whipped cream on top.

This was very easy but I too think it is too sweet. I am thinking of leaving the extra sugar out of the crumble as it didn’t seem to need it. Made this and brownies the same day and my husband put them together and covered them with ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate sauce….I have to say, it’s even tastier with some chocolate added! (What isn’t?)

My family loved this! It was a little on the sweet side so next time I’m going to cut back on the sugar a bit.

I made this three days ago and my apartment still smells delish!

45 minutes was too long for me to cook it though, I checked it at 30 and it had already started to burn, but I do have a tiny apartment sized oven so that is probably why.

The only thing I would change is to also cut back on some of the sugar, otherwise, very very good!

I had a similar dessert at a party a few years ago. I have been searching for the recipe. This is it! Thanks!

I might back off on the sugar next time I make this, to me it was too sweet…didn’t stop me from eating it though!

I feel that I owe you a huge thank you for this recipe!!! I have brought this to many potlucks, holidays, anywhere food is concerned…and everyone always raves about it! Some have nicknamed it “Pumpkin Heaven”. People who don’t even like pumpkin can’t put this down. Couln’t be easier to make or more delicous. Than you!
