Description

This banana pudding is so good, I once had a party guest scraping the bowl with a Frito to get the last bits of what was left. Super easy, no cooking.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Cold Milk
  • 1 box (3 1/4 Oz. Size) Banana Pudding Instant Pudding Mix
  • 1 box (3 1/4 Oz. Size) French Vanilla Instant Pudding Mix
  • 1 box (11 Oz. Size) 'Nilla Wafers
  • 16 ounces, weight Extra Creamy Cool Whip
  • 3 whole Bananas, Peeled And Sliced
  • 1 box (9 Oz. Size) Girl Scout Or Other Shortbread Cookies

Preparation

Whisk together milk and pudding mixes in a large bowl and keep in the fridge to set up.

Select the bowl you will serve it in and place ‘Nilla wafers flat side down so that they cover the bottom and sides of bowl. (This arrangement will also make the dessert look pretty through a glass serving bowl!)

Remove the pudding from the refrigerator and whisk in the extra creamy Cool Whip. Try not to eat this entire bowl before assembling the dessert. It will be difficult.

Slice a banana and distribute evenly on top of wafers lining the bottom of the bowl. Spoon in 1/3 of the pudding mixture on top of the bananas.

Place some wafers and shortbread cookies on top of the pudding and repeat this layering until you’ve added the last 1/3 of pudding mixture. Just cover pretty much the entire surface of the pudding layers with the wafers and shortbread. Remember, this is White Trash Banana Pudding, so you don’t have to be exact. The pudding will soften the wafer/shortbread layers anyway, so no one will be able to tell what you did here.

I like to crush some wafers and shortbread and sprinkle that on top of my finished dessert and arrange some wafers so that they’re peeking up from the sides of the bowl as well, but I’m fancy like that.

Cover and refrigerate overnight (to soften cookies/wafers).

Note: This is a party-sized recipe, so halve it if it’s just for a family of 4-8. If halving, just use one of the pudding mixes; it doesn’t matter which one. I prefer the French vanilla. Of course the banana pudding mix will make it more banana-flavored.

Just was not what I expected. Like traditional banana pudding much better. It was super easy to make but my family didn’t like shortbread cookies and the too cool whips was much too creamy for us.

Very good! I eventually had to force myself to walk away so I would stop eating it. I halved the recipe and used the vanilla pudding.
